My name is Sahar Kazemzadeh, and I’m a sophomore here at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I was born in Shiraz, Iran, but I moved to the United States when I was five and have lived in the Piedmont area of North Carolina ever since, although I still fluently speak Persian (Farsi). I’m a pre-Business major with a minor in Computer Science and Screenwriting. You’re probably wondering why I pursued the UNC Business Essentials certificate, since it’s intended for non-business majors and minors. To tell you the truth, the UNC Business Essentials program is what allowed me to confirm my interest and passion for business and desire to pursue the major. After I graduate, I want to work for a consulting firm for a few years, and then go back to school to get my MBA. Maybe at some point I’ll try out my luck in screenwriting, but for now I’m excited to learn as a student and knock on as many doors of opportunity as possible.
