My name is Julisa Schmoke and I am a junior, Mathematical Decision Sciences major at UNC-Chapel Hill. I am an only child and I was born and raised in Alpharetta, GA. I decided to come to UNC because of how beautiful and welcoming the campus was and almost 3 years in, I have no doubt that I have made the right decision. I have been the finance committee chair for the UNC chapter of the NAACP for the past 2 years. I am also the financial secretary for my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and next year I will be Treasurer. When I graduate, I plan on going on to pursue a Master’s degree and possibly a Doctorate as well. I would like to work in either the actuarial field, or possibly within operations research for a large company. I hope that the Student Ambassador program allows me to expand my network of resources and allows me to gain and share knowledge about the business world with my peers.
