My name is Cat DiPaci, and I am a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill. I am majoring in strategic communication through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and minoring in entrepreneurship. I’m from New York but curious in nature, so naturally traveling is my biggest hobby. I’ve studied abroad in Ireland, backpacked through Eastern Europe, road-tripped throughout the U.S. and Canada and worked in Beijing, China. I am constantly eager to explore and to gain different perspectives from my experiences. Also, I have always been interested in the idea of starting my own business and I aspire to do just that. I believe my passion for problem-solving and my desire to learn prepare me well for the challenges of starting from the ground up. I was very fortunate to be able to take the UNC Business Essentials (UBE) program online while interning in China this past summer. I worked for a start-up business during the day, and took each course on my own time at night. I do not have a formal background in business so I was thankful to learn basic foundations and knowledge essential for my future entrepreneurial endeavors. UBE definitely filled a void that I was lacking in terms of my overall education. I am excited to serve as a Student Ambassador for the program this year and to share my experience with other prospective students.
