Guest blog from Ken Allinson (MBA 2011) On April 6th, UNC Kenan-Flagler hosted the screening of the film, Carbon Nation, and it was a resounding success! As the provocative tagline states, it’s ‘a film about climate change that doesn’t even care if you believe in climate change.’ Over seventy people attended the event including UNC students and staff as well as community members. The feature length film just recently started rolling out to theaters nationwide, and UNC Kenan-Flagler had the chance to screen the film in advance. UNC Kenan-Flagler Students Compete in Germany in the Rubicon International Case Competition

From March 1st to 3rd, 2011, George Alexander, Srikanth Mahadevan, Jyothi Marula and Gagan Tandon, represented UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School at the Rubicon International Contest for Business Students. The contest was hosted by BiTS Iserlohn, Germany. This year’s theme for the contest was Future of Mobility with special focus on sustainable logistics and infrastructure strategies for electric vehicles. SVCIC 2011: A Resounding Success for Sustainable VC
By AJ Dye (MBA 2011) The 2011 edition of the Sustainable Venture Capital Investment Competition (SVCIC) took place here at UNC Kenan-Flagler last weekend. The competition brings together successful venture capitalists, sustainability-minded entrepreneurs, and top MBA students to participate in a simulation of venture capital investing. A reverse business plan competition, if you will. As Chair of this year’s event, I was absolutely thrilled with the turnout. We invited 9 teams from top business schools around the world, including Saïd Business School (Oxford), making SVCIC an international competition for the second time.
