If you come from a non-traditional business background, keep reading, you might enjoy my MBA perspective. My most recent job before coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler was in publishing where I did everything from organizing trade shows and conferences, writing and designing newsletters, moderating and conducting webinars, overseeing a design competition for marketers including facilitating entry and judging processes, contest communications, promotion development and executing an awards ceremony. Prior to my job in publishing I worked in television post-production at ESPN/ABC Sports. To say the least, business school is a very different environment for me!
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin; then ventured to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN for a degree in communications. I lived in the New York area and Chicago before moving to Durham for business school. Yes, you read that correctly, I live in Durham. My fiancé is a first-year MBA student at Duke which makes life very interesting (rivalrous) and extremely busy.
In my free time I enjoy tennis, singing, playing the piano, cooking, painting, drawing, writing and reading. After school I plan to work in marketing or advertising and eventually would love to open my own marketing firm and write novels on the side.
