Elcin Vardar

Hi all! I am Elcin Vardar, first-year MBA student at UNC Kenan-Flagler. I am originally from Istanbul/Turkey, which is the only metropolis in the world situated on two continents, Europe and Asia. For those who are planning a visit, I am definitely the person you should come and talk to before planning your Istanbul itinerary!

Having an interest in social sciences, even though I was exposed to the most rigorous quantitative education during my high school education, I decided to study Economics at Bogazici University formerly known as Robert College, an American college in Istanbul dating back to 1863. Following my graduation, I joined Deloitte and worked in Corporate Finance department for three years. I like steep learning curves, getting direct exposure on the client side to executives and board members of several companies. With an MBA degree from UNC, I am planning to pursue my career as a Strategy Consultant. Being in contact with inspiring faculty and international peer group, I can feel how my global vision is enlarged in 3 months!

Besides trying to survive Mod I and II classes, I am working with International Business Association as a social liaison. I have passion for arts and design, traveling, cinema and photography; and I like sharing my discoveries through social media.
