Sasinipa Yamasathien (MBA ’12)

namHi! My name is Sasinipa Yamasathien and I am a second year student at UNC Kenan-Flagler business school. I come from Thailand, where we are blessed to have confusing, long name. Most people just call me Nam. I spent most of my life in Bangkok, Thailand, the country of beach, sun and smiles. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in international business, but soon later found my passion in marketing. I worked as a marketing researcher helping a marketing team develop understanding about consumer behavior and implement marketing strategy based on consumer insight. The coolest thing about my job was that I got to try a new product before everyone else! I grew more and more passionate about marketing so I decided to apply for an MBA in marketing at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler business school. The school school does not only provide me with strategic perspective and technical knowhow in marketing but also expands my interest to different area of marketing outside consumer products. Located in the Research Triangle, UNC Kenan-Flager business school has a strong connection with the healthcare industry and is very active in this field. This summer, I interned with Kenan Center working on a consulting project aimed to improve the quality of medicine in South East Asia. I loved my experience and I am looking forward to a career where I can make a positive impact to the society and community. A bit more about myself, I am a foodie and I love trying and cooking food from various ethnicities. I am also passionate about traveling. I love exploring new places and experiencing new cultures. I also enjoy going to plays, and I think the Carolina Performance Art Center is one of the coolest benefits of being a UNC student!
